College of Sequoias

College of the Sequoias is a two-year California community college offering educational and enrichment programs for the residents of its district in Tulare and Kings counties. The college was established in 1926 and moved to its current 62-acre main campus site in Visalia in 1940. In addition to the campus in Visalia, COS operates a full-service center in Hanford that is also home to the college's police and fire academies. COS also opened its Tulare College Center in January 2013. It is a full-service college center and the home of COS' agriculture programs.

College of the Sequoias embraces accreditation as an ongoing process designed to promote educational quality and institutional effectiveness.

College of the Sequoias is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC), Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) , 10 Commercial Boulevard, Suite 204, Novato, CA, 94949, (415)506-0234, an institutional accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and the U.S. Department of Education. Office of Academic Services

Welcome to the Office of Academic Services for College of the Sequoias. Working closely with faculty, our office is responsible for the continual improvement and overall quality and integrity of the instructional programs for COS. We offer one hundred and fifty eight certificates and degrees in Academic and Career & Technical Education programs, many of which are unique to the economies of Tulare and Kings Counties.

Along with helping to keep our curriculum and programs current we lead the college with the development and implementation of the Strategic Plan, our Self-Evaluation and Accreditation process, the Educational Master plan, preparing the schedule of courses, the College catalog and other publications. In close cooperation with Student Services we promote effective student-centered learning and services. MISSION STATEMENT

Nursing and Health Professions

The Marybelle and S. Paul Musco School of Nursing & Health Professions provides dynamic academic programs that focus on inquiry and innovative practices relevant to the ever-changing health care system.

Our baccalaureate and DNP programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Students who complete the BSN to DNP Adult-Geriatric Acute Care, Adult-Geriatric Primary Care, or Family Psych. and Mental Health nurse practitioner programs are eligible for ANCC certification.*

*Students who complete these programs have the educational preparation to sit for the ANCC certification in this role and population. Applicants must also meet any additional eligibility criteria in effect when they apply for certification.
